Why doesn't anyone wear t-shirts with Chinese words in Taiwan? Why would people rather wear shirts with meaningless gibberish English than wear something that has some special meaning for them? How come you can only find Japanese and American style clothes in Taiwan? Why do we see more people wearing t-shirts with American Flags on them than with Taiwan Flags? What is the identity of Taiwan? What is the style of Taiwan? Does Taiwan have it's own identity and style? Yes it does, and it's here in Taiwerica.
爲什麽在台灣沒有人穿有中文字的T恤？爲什麽人家寧願穿沒有意義的亂寫的英文T恤？爲什麽在台灣我們只能看到日式和美式的衣服？爲什麽穿美國旗子的人比穿台灣旗子的人多了？台灣有什麽特性？台灣有什麽風格？它有它自己的特性和風格嗎？有阿，而且就是在這裡，台外客。
Being an American, maybe I'm able to see things that many Taiwanese people do not see. It's like telling a fish that it's amazing he can live underwater and the fish responds "What's water?" I try to catch the essence of Taiwan in my designs by using humor. In America many people feel the designs on their shirts can show parts of their personalities. Wearing a humorous shirt is a great way to show your friendliness and sense of humor without having to say a word. Wearing a shirt that can start a conversation is like a shortcut to meeting new friends. So buy a Taiwerica shirt and make some new friends! Yay!
因為我是美國人，可能我能看到台灣人看不到的東西。好像跟一條魚說他很神氣能住在在水裡面,然後他回答說“水是什麽？” 關於我的設計我想用幽默抓到台灣的精華。在美國很多人覺得他們的T恤的圖樣會讓人了解他們個性的一部分。穿幽默的T恤能給人看你的友善和幽默感，一個字都不用説。穿幫你開場白的衣服就像走捷徑交新的朋友。Yay！
